January 27, 2023 Inaugural Women's Leadership Breakfast Recap See More Photos On January 27, 2023, we hosted over 50 guests at our inaugural Women's Leadership Breakfast, celebrating The Power of Mentorship in honor of January being National Mentoring Month. The morning began with a welcome address from Metro CEO Stephanie Wiggins, followed by recognizing Supervisor Kathryn Barger as our first-ever Power of One Award honoree. This marquee award honors an individual that has had a substantial and direct impact on Friends LA, our youth, and families. After the award presentation, a robust panel discussion focused on the importance of mentoring for women, moderated by Christina Pascucci from Good Day LA on Fox 11. Panelists included Tomii Crump of NBCUniversal Media, Jennifer Baldocchi from Paul Hastings, and Kristen Dykstra of YITTY Shapewear Reinvented by Lizzo.
