Ciara Spotlights Our Family on The Ellen DeGeneres Show

We’re excited to share that today’s episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, a nationally syndicated daily talk show, highlighted Friends of the Children — Los Angeles by welcoming one of our very own families onto their stage!

GRAMMY award-winning artist Ciara guest-hosted the episode and invited Brittanie, a mother and long-time parent leader in our Friends LA program, to talk about her family.

Brittanie is a single mother of seven and has several children enrolled in the program. The children are each empowered by their very own Friend — a paid, professional mentor who will be their side for 12+ years, no matter what. Brittanie says these Friends are just as close as “family.”

“Everyone in the world would love to have someone that’s behind them, letting them know that, ‘Hey, we got you.’” says Brittanie. “And so, it’s everything for me. And it’s everything for my children.”
