Marco Calderón has been working in the non-profit sector for well over twenty years. He has worked as a high school teacher, coach, museum professional, guest services manager, program director and other leadership roles. He completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish Language & Culture from California State University, Northridge and holds a Master of Arts degree in Catholic School Administration from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, CA.
Throughout his career Marco has focused on working closely with the community and empowering the next generation. He immigrated to the LA area from Guatemala with his family at the age of 12. Marco grew up experiencing firsthand the struggles of an immigrant family. His parents worked hard supporting Marco and his three brothers with the goal of forging a better life for everyone. His family thrived largely with the support of many community organizations who were there every step of the way. As the first in his family to graduate from college, he made it a priority to give back to the community and work in the non-profit sector to provide that same support his family received growing up.
Marco has two children, four grandchildren, six cats and one dog. His personal passions are reading and traveling to Europe with his wife.
