Julio Martinez (He/Him)

Program Manager, East Los Angeles

Julio Martinez is a Program Manager with over 16 years of experience in education, working
passionately to support youth in discovering their strengths, addressing their challenges, and
identifying their passions and career interests. He believes in the power of building authentic
relationships and showing empathy for the social-emotional needs of young people.

As a former foster youth, Julio understands firsthand the importance of having positive role
models and strong support systems. He is deeply committed to ensuring that all children,
especially those from underserved communities have access to opportunities and a clear path
to success. He firmly believes that motivating and inspiring youth from an early age helps build
confidence and sets the foundation for lifelong achievement.

Throughout his career, Julio has served as a school coordinator, internship coordinator, and
teacher. He has worked closely with students facing a wide range of barriers, including those on
probation, young mothers, students overcoming substance abuse, credit recovery challenges,
and gang involvement. His work has focused on helping these students earn their high school
diplomas and gain essential life and career readiness skills.

In his role as an Internship Coordinator and ROP Teacher, Julio has guided high school
students in developing job readiness skills, exploring career pathways, and connecting with
mentors through internship opportunities.

Julio holds a Career Technical Education (CTE) credential in Education, Family Services, and
Child Development from the University of San Diego. His lived experiences fuel his passion for
making a lasting, positive impact on the lives of the youth he serves.
