Staff: John Scrimgeour

John was born and raised in West Hartford, Connecticut, where his passion for sports and the outdoors first took shape. His early experiences coaching youth basketball and running a local pickup clinic ignited his love for mentorship and community engagement. During the summers, he further honed these skills as a camp counselor.

John graduated from Boston College in 2023 with a degree in economics and journalism. Since then, he has gained experience across various industries, including public health and media. Before joining Friends LA, he served as a program assistant at Friends of the Children-New York, where he deepened his commitment to youth development.

Outside of work, John enjoys reading, writing, and listening to music as ways to unwind. He is excited to bring his experience and passion to the Friends LA team, supporting meaningful programs that empower youth and families.
