Gwendelynn Oseguera-Becerra grew up in Long Beach, Ca. Gwendelynn is a professional mentor who works with youth and their families in marginalized communities in Long Beach and South Bay Area. Gwendelynn is a survivor of childhood sexual abuse. Gwendelynn has always been passionate about creating safe, educational activities for the youth. She loves to interact,explore and expand children minds by providing community resources, college tours, exploring culture events and much more.
Gwendelynn believes by providing tools, resources and safe spaces, can allow youth to reach their full potential. She is a first generation college graduate. Gwendelynn graduated from San Diego State University with a degree in Gerontology. She has over 6+ years working with seniors with Dementia and/or Alzheimer’s disease. Working with the Elderly has given Gwendelynn the patience, care, and passion for caring for others. Gwendelynn was Mentee herself from a different program called Operation Jump Start which allowed her to pursue her dreams to go to college and travel around the world. Gwendelynn loves to travel and inspire the youth to do so. If she’s not zip lining in the middle of Andes mountain in Peru, or soaking up the sun in Cancun you can always find her at beach with her dog Lilo or watering her garden.
