Emily Pintor was raised on the East Side of the San Fernando Valley, where she grew up participating in many of the same community-based programs she now supports. As a first generation Salvadoran-American, Emily’s early experiences instilled a deep love for her neighborhood and supporting her community. She aims to give back that same feeling to all children, parents, and caregivers she works with.
At Friends LA, Emily is honored to support children and families in building lasting, trusting relationships—and in nurturing a sense of love and care for themselves, their stories, and their communities.
Emily’s passion for youth development and community empowerment is rooted in her own journey. She understands firsthand how powerful consistent support, trust, and mentorship can be for all types of children. Her work is driven by the belief that every child deserves to feel seen, supported, and proud of where they come from.
Before joining Friends of the Children, Emily worked in Film and Television, where she developed a strong background in storytelling. She brings that same creative lens to her work today, helping children and families reconnect with their voices and realize that everyone is a natural storyteller. She believes storytelling can be a bridge to confidence, healing, and community pride.
Emily studied Film/TV & Sociology at Boston University with an aim on blending the two, and now at Friends she has an opportunity to empower storytellers in her own community. In her free time Emily also volunteers with The Gift Shop Co. an organization dedicated to providing clothing and other basic necessities to those in Los Angeles as well as El Salvador.
