Desiraye Mendoza supports and empowers her youth and their families by helping them to build a stronger bond and to learn critical life skills. Desiraye believes that every child deserves someone who will support and advocate for their needs. As a former foster youth, she knows just how much of an impact a supportive community can have on a child.
Desiraye is passionate about helping those who are from a similar demographic and background as her because she knows how much the support means. She is a former Paraprofessional for LAUSD and has worked with the youth since 2014 when she volunteered as a Sunday school teacher assistant. She graduated from Cal State LA in 2021 with her Bachelors in Sociology: Option in Diversity and Inequalities and a minor in Psychology.
