Staff: Biviana Mercado (She/Her)

Biviana Mercado understands the importance of building bonds with children and their families. Prior to joining Friends of the Children, she worked at two different school districts in the Antelope Valley region for the past seven years. She started her career as a playground aide at one of the local schools and quickly discovered her passion for working with children! Soon after, she pursued a position that allowed her to work with children at a more in-depth and personal level by becoming a Special Education Instructional Assistant as well as a Behavioral Instructor.

Biviana earned her degree in Sociology at Antelope Valley College. She values the relationships she’s built with her former students and hopes to build new bonds at Friends LA., while making strides to create an effective and lasting change in her community.

During her free time, she enjoys exercising, camping, and going to the beach.
