Alex Arenz is an HR & Operations Assistant at Friends of the Children Los Angeles, where they work to create a safe and supportive environment for staff to empower youth through professional mentoring.
Alex has over fifteen years of experience working in nonprofit organizations with people, programs, and organizational development. Throughout their career, Alex has worked in their community to break generational cycles of poverty, combat food insecurity, and abolish prisons. They believe in the power of honesty, accountability, and dynamic connection to build community and fuel social change. Alex approaches their work with a passion for learning and a commitment to transparent communication and kindness.
Before joining Friends LA, Alex was the Development Director for LIFT-Los Angeles and an Executive Consultant for nonprofit organizations with CCS Fundraising. Alex holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Critical Theory & Social Justice from Occidental College and a Master of Social Work degree in Social Change & Innovation from the University of Southern California.
